Houses of Worship: A Design and Construction Seminar

For many pastors, building committee leaders or members who are undertaking church facility projects, your role often comes with countless questions and maybe a little anxiety. Before you proceed, wouldn’t it help to know what to expect? That’s why WSKF Architects and our partners created this seminar just for you.

In sponsoring this seminar, WSKF Architects will share knowledge and insights gained from our work designing churches in metro Kansas City and this region over more than four decades.

We carefully crafted our seminar content to cover the full process of developing a church project. We also worked hard to ensure that the content is understandable and of value to church leaders with no or varying experience with church facility projects.

This seminar is tailored for pastors and building committee leaders and members who are planning new facility construction, renovations or expansions. The compact schedule of the seminar is geared to accommodate busy leaders.

The seminar is led by John Freshnock, the principal who leads WSKF Architect’s church design practice. His experience spans church master planning, new construction, renovations and expansions across the full spectrum of church spaces and denominations. Joining John will be Jason Holmes with Harvest Productions, a highly respected firm specializing in audio-visual and other elements of the church-going experience. Rounding out our group is Jim Lehman, senior vice president with Central Bank of the Midwest, a leader in church facility finance.

Our upcoming seminar is scheduled April 9, 2016 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at St. Andrew Christian Church, 13890 W. 127th St., Olathe, Kan. The seminar will be in St. Andrew’s Friends Hall. The seminar includes a tour of the church.
