Penn Valley Campus Master Plan
LOCATION:
Kansas City, Mo.
SIZE:
25 acres
Metropolitan Community College (MCC) leaders commissioned a team of WSKF Architects and Bartlett & West to complete a master plan for the Penn Valley Community College campus, which serves about 6,000 students. The 25-acre campus in midtown Kansas City, Mo., offers classes across an array of core programs and campus-specific focuses on Allied Health, Nursing, Social Sciences and other specialties. WSKF, in collaboration with Bartlett & West, completed a master plan covering all campus education facilities, sports facilities and common campus amenities such as libraries, bookstore and food service. The master plan also entails a parking/traffic study and wayfinding assessment looking at vehicular and pedestrian flow. The master plan also covers how future projects can help advance MCC’s sustainability goals. The master plan provides short- and long-term recommendations for meeting campus needs and provides direction for the campus capital improvement plan.
