Homefield Prep Baseball Complex
LOCATION:
Kansas City, KS
SIZE:
8 fields / 49 acres
With aspirations to become one of the best baseball complexes in the city, the Homefield Prep Baseball Complex houses eight fields for player from youth to adult leagues. Centralized between every set of four fields is a restroom (including family) and a concession stand. Built in cameras have been integrated for tracking player analytics behind the outfield and home plate. With the idea of taking care of the player, as well as the spectator, the facilities include shaded structures, bleachers, and dugouts for hot summer days.
Each field consists of two batting cages, two bullpens, a scoreboard, and a batter’s eye along the centerfield fence. The batting cages provide enough power capacity to be used with a pitching machine. The dugouts have an open-faced design as well as a padded rail for players. The turf for the entire field is optimized for baseball use, with a specific infill compound. Mounds are modular as well, with the ability to have two different configurations for bases for varying play. A canopy provides cover and space for vendors as well as power for vendors selling tournament gear or even welcoming food trucks to the complex.
