Van Buren County Hospital Master Plan

Leaders of Van Buren County Hospital commissioned WSKF Architects to develop a hospital campus master plan to help them work through and address a range of functional and logistical challenges. The master plan process presented an opportunity to step back from the day-to-day challenges and consider such challenges in the broader context of the hospital and the community served by the institution. WSKF led Hospital Board of Trustees, Administration, Physicians, Staff and Patients through a collaborative process looking at better aligning facilities with the hospital mission and current operations as well as short- and long term needs. The result is a four-phase master plan to address the current facility needs and those of the future. The master plan creates a logical, sequential process for addressing facility needs and deficiencies as well as requirements for specific functions and departments such as kitchen/dietary space, medical records, med-surg space, ER and others. The master plan also addresses facility needs for senior living space.
